TITUS RULES!
Review by Florence Scarinci
Titus is the youngest and the favorite of Queen Elizabeth's corgis. "Madge", short for "Your Majesty", a nickname given her by Prince Philip, claims not to have favorites, but Titus has earned the primary place in the Queen's heart by his stellar behavior when, at a very young age, he asks to go out to potty and does not soil the priceless rugs in the throne room. Titus continues to endear himself by foiling a robbery attempt; saving the Prince, who as fallen asleep in the bathtub, from drowning; and several other acts of heroism.
Not only does the author give us a charming picture of our beloved corgis, he also gives us insight into the personalities of the queen and her consort and the nature of their relationship.
King-Smith is the author of several other books, including Babe: The Gallant Pig, which was made into a movie. Like Babe: the Gallant Pig, the book appears to be literature for a young person but contains humorous insights that older readers can enjoy as well. I give this book four paws up and hope that Mr. King-Smith will delight us with a sequel.
